Many thanks again to everyone for answering the Mouse Pointer query. Now I've another one for you all. Does anyone know of a set of routines that will play an IFF music score (as in Sonix, DMCS etc) for you ? I need something that provide a set of routines something along the lines of :- TunePtr LoadTune(TuneName) ; char *TuneName ; PlayTune(TunePtr) ; ShutThatDammNoiseUp(TunePtr) ; that can be included into my own programs. I am currently writing a game to learn Amiga programming, and will probably release it into the Public Domain (It won't be good enough to make me any money). Does anyone know if something along these lines exists ? On a related issue, does anyone know the legal position as far as Copyright law is concerned with the following cases (UK and US law differ slightly). 1. Are Electronic Arts / Sonix etc breaking Musicians Copyright on tunes that they provide with their packages ? 2. If I transcribe an Original Music score of a living (or died less than 50 years ago) author into a package, and then sell a program that plays that tune, or release it into the public domain, am I breaking that author's Copyright ? 3. If I compose an original tune solely on computer packages, does Copyright subsist ? 4. If I use a music generating package (e.g Instant Music) to generate an Original Score, who owns the Copyright ? Me ? Electronic Arts ? My Amiga ? The program ? A few things about Copyright law I do know are that Copyright exists for the lifetime of the Author + 50 years. Copyright subsists automatically for works in the UK, in the US, works must be registered. - Peter Walkley =============================================================================== When the revolution comes, all IBM salesmen will be put up against the wall and shot. ===============================================================================
