My experience with them is incomplete but I'm beginning to fear that it
may be all too indicative of things to come. I ordered the board three weeks
ago and haven't yet received anything.

Right now the company has two strikes against it. I phoned them the
first day after seeing their ad in Robo City News. The ad claimed "2 Mbyte Ram
Board, $139". I was told that the price had gone up to $149. This is still a
good price but I would think that they could have honored the advertized price
for at least one day. Strike one. I asked them if they got my money that day
when would they ship the board. I was told they were "back-ordered by one or
two weeks". I optimistically thought that this might be true and sent in my
money.(Please don't flood me with offers of bridges you want to sell). Three
weeks have gone by. Strike two.

I'm disturbed to hear that they no longer answer their phone. The main
reason that I placed the order despite the clear warnings is that I got
knowledgeable answers to technical questions about their product during two
phone calls.

I just got off the phone w/BareBoards. They're a three guy operation not set
up to volume production. They've gone as far as to to refuse a writeup in
INFO because they wouldn't be able to handle the volume generated. I talked
with Bill and here's what he had to say about Richard's order and things in
general.

1) Order not received
They are indeed back-ordered. They moved during the first of the year and
this of course introduced some delay. There order for ram's also came in late.
They have a lot of orders that were generated from the ROBO ad. Bill said
He'd be happy to give you a refund. In fact he indicated that he would try
calling you (the power of USENET).

2) $10 price increase
As with any advertised price "Prices are subject to change without notice".
The ram market is extremely volatile right now and prices are changing like
the stock market. In addition the ROBO ad came out a month later than
sceduled and the price was stale.
3) Not answering phone
They certainly answer the, at least for me :-)

Disclaimer: I don't work for, etc. I did call them when the ROBO ad came out
and asked them about memory for the 500 and got myself beta test list.
They say pricing will be similar to the 1000 board.
