Some of you may recall from the end of December that i posted messages to this newsgroup requesting help with my difficulties with getting a Micron Tech single slot card cage to work with a Commodore A2052. The upshot of the responses that i received was that the A2052 draws too much power for the A1000 to comfortably handle, and that the Micron Tech single slot cage was not zorro II compatible. I'm posting this to inform everyone of what i ended up doing. I called Kurt Kuntz (SP??) at Micron (the sales man who i dealt with) and explained my difficulties to him. He was very helpful and honest, and immediately issued me a Return Authorization Number. I then ordered microns two slot cage with a powersupply, and their two meg ram board This was at the beginning of January. Near the end of January, I received the cage via Federal Express no thanks to the mindless bureaucrats at Canada Customs who delayed things as only bureaucrats can. I took the cage home, and opened all the packaging and ..... There was NO POWER SUPPLY. I installed the cage, and fired up my amiga. No dice what so ever..... I called Kurt at Micron, and amazingly he was able to handle my rather seriously phreaked out attitude about a non functional cage , and no power supply. (This was all being paid for on my master card incidently...) The next morning I Faxed a letter to micron explaining the situation and requesting immediate correstion of the problem. I received a phone call from Kurt 30 minutes later. He told me to ship the cage back, Fed Express collect, and that they would replace it immediately with a new cage. He even offered to assist me with dealing with handling the customs situation on the replacement. Attempting to shorten this story, Micron assisted me in dealing with Canada Customs on the replacement unit shipment. Their employee Kacey Jones the assistant traffic manager was very helpful with this as well. Thanks to Micron. I now have a 2 meg card cage, with a free slot and a power supply. Amazingly, it even works.... (I was waiting for a murphy's law situation to occ ur, after all the problems to get it in, it would still have problems. ) However, I tested the cage on a A1000 at a local Computer store owned by a friend of mine inline with a C Ltd hard drive controller, and the cage worked perfectly for 9 hours of constant operation. (Oh Yeah... the cage passes the bus.... and it does it properly) In the past week and a half, i have had no problems with the unit, and the technical quality of the unit is IMPRESSIVE.
