How about a *user-settable* option to put the drag bar for a screen at the bottom. I find that for text-oriented applications I'm more interested in looking at the bottom of something than the top. If the drag bar/menu bar was at the bottom then you could push screens up like a windowshade. This might cause problems with menus: see below. Another user option I'd like would be: if you're not going to do the right thing and support pop-up menus, at least allow menu bars to be attached to windows. I think allowing so much programmer control of menus was a mistake, but it may be too late now to do it right (programmer defines the graphic and bounding box, and menu manager arranges boxes so they fit on screen: starting with stacking them up vertically, then wrapping them round). Actually, you could do that. The graphic and bounding box are in the menu structure.
