[ A free line is worth what you paid for it! ] In a recent posting, I mentioned a couple minor bugs I found in Manx's new SDB debugger. While getting the colors setup in the various windows, I bumped into a limitation of the ARP (v1.04) version of the "set" function. To establish the runtime color usage for SDB, you can set an environment variable to tell SDB how to map them into the 3 windows. For my particular colors, this worked out to: set "SDBOPT=-cs0,2,2,0 -cd0,3 -cc0,0,1,0" which works just fine with the Manx supplied "set" command. With the ARP replacement "set" however, it doesn't seem that you can pass it any kind of "quoted string" (some kind of "quotes" are needed because of the blanks in the string). I haven't seen any documentation on the ARP "set" command in any version that I have (v1.01, v1.03, v1.04), so I tried many combinations of quote types ("'`\), and positions (as above; after the "="). All were no go, and gave me the "usage" message. In some cases, it did set SDBOPT to "-cs0,2,2,0", but that was all. Hopefully, a future revision of ARP's "set" will allow for quoted strings, but for now, one needs to use the Manx version (I think). /kim -- UUCP: kim@amdahl.amdahl.com or: {sun,decwrl,hplabs,pyramid,ihnp4,uunet,oliveb,cbosgd,ames}!amdahl!kim DDD: 408-746-8462 USPS: Amdahl Corp.
