Hello, I'm currently in the market for a hard disk for my Amiga 1000. So far, it looks like a 20MB Supra is a pretty strong contender. My criteria for the hard disk is: 1. Reasonable cost. 2. Reliability. 3. Compatibily with Current software and Future Amiga OS revisions. This goes for hardware too. 4. Simplicity of installation. I don't want to have to do any soldering, trace cutting, etc. 5. Good performance - especially interested in how well it works with the upcoming Fast File System. 6. Customer Support - do they help you out when you have a question? 7. Will it work with an Allegra memory expansion unit? If anyone has any comments about the Supra, or any other hard drives, I'd sure appreciate them. Also, one other question - has anybody used the memory expansion modules (1 or 2 MB) that can be used with the Supra? I've seen the 2MB module advertised for $509, which seems fair. It sure is nice to have access to such a wealth of good information as is available for the Amiga in COMP.SYS.AMIGA. I have not seen any other group that comes close. I would like to thank everyone that contributes to COMP.SYS.AMIGA for the valuable technical information as well as the inter- esting discussions about my favorite computer. As a novice 'C' programmer, I have learned a lot about how to make my Amy do the things it does so well because of YOUR help! Thanks to all of you, Jim Garrison My favorite comment in some old Fortran code I get to support: C OH NO! Give me a vaulting pole and jet pack with goggles and whoopie C cushion. Now that's error handling!
