[Peer pressure line] Alot of you with A1000's complained that EHB mode should not be considered "standard" and therefore developers shouldn't use it etc. Well, yes, you should be able to use it, you should be able to upgrade to it. Fine and dandy. But DON'T anyone dare complain as some have that developers shouldn't use it ever because they don't want to be left with an "obsolete" computer or with a really great package that they can't use. No! This is like saying that they shouldn't use color on the MacII because it won't be compatable with the old Mac, etc. Don't try and hold back developers, and don't complain that your computer will become obsolete, there are worse things. I've changed coputers 4 times in as many years, that's the way the market is. Put a big message saying "Uses ExtraHalfBright mode" or "Uses 64 colors" on your packaging. I just don't want to plunk down my cash only to find that I can't run it. > > But DON'T anyone dare complain as some have that developers shouldn't use it > ever because they don't want to be left with an "obsolete" computer or with a > really great package that they can't use. I've changed coputers > 4 times in as many years, that's the way the market is. Oh, lighten up. We all know how the computer industry is. We get lectured about it frequently in this group. No one wants to take your precious EHB away from you. Just don't assume that we all have it. This differs from the Mac II situation greatly in that there's not a simple way to upgrade one's system from a Mac + to a Mac II, but there is a very simple way to add the EHB feature to an old Amiga. I'd just like to ask developers to let us know, before we buy, that EHB is being used, and I'd like to ask Commodore to make the chip available to us old timers at a low cost, so that we don't have to argue about this anymore. > |Joe Pantuso | joe@lakesys.UUCP /// -Gary -- Gary R.
