[comp.sys.amiga] Amiga Analog RGB

hsgj@batcomputer.tn.cornell.edu (Dan Green) (03/14/88)

I have an external device that generates RGB output. I would like to
display the output from this device on my Amiga A1080 monitor, but I
am having a difficult time connecting the device to the crt.

The device generates Red, Green, Blue, Horizontal Sync, Vertical Sync,
and has a composite Sync on the Green channel.

So far, I have figured out that the A1080 has RGB on pins 3, 4, and 5
respectively, that composite sync is on pin 7, and that ground is on
pin 1. I hope this is right.

Well, I have the A1080 video mode to RGB, the RGB mode is on Analog,
and I have RGB, csync, and ground connected. The problem is, there is
absolutely no signal coming into the A1080.

By the way, I know that the external device is working correctly, because
I view its output on a Sony 1271Q RGB monitor and everything is fine
on that. Since the A1080 is significantly cheaper then the Sony, I'd sure
like to get it to work. If anyone has already interfaced an external
RGB device to their A1080, I would appreciate any hints, tips, or other
help.

Please send email to me re: this problem. Of course, you can also
post to the net if this topic is of any general interest.

Thanks,
