[comp.sys.amiga] Amigatcp & termcap for amiga & Revenge of the Grad Students

rminnich@udel.EDU (Ron Minnich) (03/20/88)

Pat White (Thanks pat!) informs me that he is busily digging out from
under the backlog. SO i will post amigatcp to comp.sources.amiga
in the next few days and let's hope it makes its way out.

For those of you who asked about 'termcap for Amiga' there was
YAPDTC (Yet Another PD TermCap) posted to comp.sources.misc a few
days ago. It was originally done on the IBM PC, but looked pretty good.
Take a look!

Two game ideas for game writers:
1) I would sure like a railroad simulator. You know, like the Northeast
Corridor simulators for IBM, Apple //, and so on.
2) New flight simulator disk scenery. Revenge of the Grad Students.
The only scenery consists of different university campuses.
You, The Hero, have a plane with unlimited destructive capability.
They, The Bad Guys (you know, administration, bureaucrats, MIS
departments, maybe some of the faculty) have No Defense. They
Are Helpless. You fly around campus, blowing things up. They
   plead for mercy:
"You scum! You can't do this! You may have been a
well-paid engineer in the real world, but here you
		 are just a GRAD STUDENT!"
(That's how they plead for mercy to a Grad Student)
  They offer big bribes:
"Okay, I'll skip the late registration fee!"
  They threaten:
"I'll make you re-format your thesis!!!"
But you show No Mercy. Their only real weapon: scan forms and #2 pencils.

I would buy Jet with this scenery disk, believe me. SO would every
other student in the known universe.
  :-)

I would also be interested in a Railroad simulator for the Amiga with
quite a bit of trackwork in it, but:
I WANT TO BE ABLE TO ENTER MY OWN TRACKPLANS ALSO

I am willing to do some of the work for a project like this, so if anyone
else is interested, please mail me, or post if of general interest.
