Greetings, I am not proud to announce to announce that a public domain Cobol compiler will be available for the Amiga. It's output will be AmigaBasic (MS-basic). This will allow all to use it that want to use it. It is necessary if the Amiga is to be considered a true business machine that Cobol run on it. Obviously this single tool will sell more machines than all the display hacks, desktop video, sound tools, great programming environment, multitasking, and other features that have let the machine continue to exist. About the only thing that true manager types find they really like is Amiga Dos and its blindingly competent, but quick, implementation. So now armed with a Cobol compiler the business user can go onto truly important things like, report generation, or tape managment. 1200 lines per minute line printers, that print all 65 printable ascii characters, and 800bpi 9 track tapes are sure to follow this announcement.
