[comp.sys.amiga] Best of CATS People Award

papa@pollux.usc.edu (Marco Papa) (04/06/88)

One of the people that will show up at the "usenet get-together" at the Dev.
Con. pointed out that there should be a way to involve everybody from
comp.sys.amiga and comp.sys.amiga.tech with this. And so this is the deal.
I am now taking votes for the

"Comp.sys.amiga{.tech} Best of CATS People" Award

The Award is for the person that in your opinion contributed the most in
properly responding to technical and not technical questions, but that also
provided a good dose of sarcasm and wit in his/her postings. [Smiling
faces :-) DO count]

You can vote for anyone of the CATS people you see often on these groups.
There is a limit of 1 vote per person. The last day in which I will accept
votes will be April, 20, 1988. That will give me time to set up some kind
of plaque or other thing to give to the winner at the Dev. Con. As usual with
these things, CATS people are excluded from the voting.

Send those votes in.

-- Marco

If you are referring to CATS as 'Commodore Amiga Technical Support'
then this idea of yours needs to be modified as there are some of us
here (particularly Andy Finkel) who contribute frequently BUT are not
members of CATS. Andy (Steve Beats, and myself) work for the enginerring
side of CBM.

Making sure you wouldn't be forgotten, Dave? Seems you neglected to mention
George Robbins, Dave Haynie (both engineering), Rick Sterling, and Ed Gunther
(CBM QA). :-)

richard@gryphon.CTS.COM (Richard Sexton) (04/09/88)

This is a dumb idea. Singleing out one person for accolades above
all others.

The whole damn crew is the most approachable, reponsive bunch of people
I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with in any computer company.

To single one out would be unfair.

Buy them all a shot of $17 napolean cognac in D.C I say.

Except for Dale, who doesnt drink...

So far you are the only one that complained.

No question about that.

Personal opinion.

That's a good idea.
