...bozo sender...hit the wrong key in Emacs... Anywho, the question is: Is there a reference or set of references that explicitly state what structures/items MUST be allocated in CHIP memory? I've got the old $99 set of Amiga manuals and a couple other books (Amiga Programmer's handbook, maybe Inside the Amiga). Nowhere in them can I find EXPLICIT directions on what must be in CHIP. (unclear references stating "memory that the chips will reference..." don't really hack it.). Of course, certain basic items are obviously required to be in CHIP. What are the others? Where referenced? *ARE* there any others (for example, one puts active bitmaps in CHIP; how about pointers to said maps?). I've survived quite well for the past two years without REALLY knowing what I've been doing simply because I've only *GOT* CHIP ram so these were moot questions. Now that I'm considering the great leap forward into infinite memory (relative to the 60k I had on a homebuilt s100...) it would be nice to KNOW that the assumptions I've made are correct/incorrect.
