There was a little discussion a while back about somebody using a Bridgeboard on an A500. What exactly was it that allowed that? I missed the details at the time and now a friend is thinking about buying an Amiga and I'm trying to make it look as attractive as possible :-) (not too hard with a computer like the Amiga--just pop in a few Badge demos and watch his IBM-graphics-adjusted-eyes bulge) Anyway, what is it, and how does it work? Thanks for any info, -Doug Ghormley (dg2l+@andrew.cmu.edu)

I was beta-testing the BusExpander from Bill's Boards. The product is available now and is designed to work with the A500 and A1000. It has six Amiga slots and six IBM type slots (4 of them AT type). The board is designed to fit into a user supplied Baby AT case, the user also supplies a standard IBM type power supply. I have myself stuffed a 2MB card for the 2000 in there, and I know of one who put in a 2090 hard disk controller. As the subsystem generally takes cards for the 2000, I see no reason you should not be able to add a bridge card. --Kasper Kasper Osterbye ||| /// ///| Internet: kasper@csli.stanford.edu ||| /// ///|| UUCP: {backbones..}!csli.stanford.edu!kasper |||<<< ///||| AT&T: (415) 323 9604 ||| \\\ ///=||| USMAIL: 2420 Tasso st. #3, Palo Alto CA 94301 ||| \\X// |||MIGA

I have myself stuffed a 2MB card for the I'm sure Pacific Peripherals makes a fine product, but as I understand it their system only has two or three slots, while these would certainly accept Commodore's A2000 peripherals in general, I don't believe they included an IBM PC bus in there. The BusExpander from Bill's Boards does have this capability, and I posted an article on it because of some oddities that occurred when it was being Beta tested. >As the subsystem generally takes cards for the 2000, I see no reason >you should not be able to add a bridge card.
