monitors. Is the Sony really that much better than the Commodore?
I am about to buy one and would like to hear from people that
have Sony's. I am particularly concerned about the sharpness in
text mode. I spend many hours in front of a screen doing text
editing and would appreciate the closest thing to monochrome
resolution without having to give up the use of color in the
rest of my applications.

The recent Commodore multi-purpose monitors are very inexpensive. After all, Amiga 500's and Commodore 128's need monitors, too, and people who buy those computers can't afford spending hundreds of dollars more on a high quality monitor. But if you can afford a better monitor, get it. Interlace mode, in particular, is quite miserable on the Commodore monitor, even with the contrast as low as can be seen (it's decent on the older Amiga monitors, which also have an etched "bottle" so that you can't see your face reflecting off the screen). -- Eric Lee Green elg@usl.CSNET Snail Mail P.O.
