Greetings! As of Friday the 13th, I will be leaving my present
position at Bell Laboratories here in Beautiful Columbus Ohio and
beginning a new career teaching in a small, private and very
progressive High School in Pasadena. I have two informational
requests to make of you good folks in netland...
1) Does anyone in/around the greater LA area know where I can get
access to this net? In particular, I will have a terminal & 1200
baud data set - are there any contacts that I could look up for a
login on a suitable system?
2) More importantly - the school, Mayfield Senior School, is
looking to start up a Computer Science Curriculum (which is why I
am going there) that goes beyond the usual collection of Apples
and TRS-80s. I have been gathering info (mostly from net.works)
on new, 68K/Unix (TM, don't ya know) based systems and what I
would like to know is anything that you folks can pass along about
such systems. Also, I am hoping to contact some of the
manufacturers directly to try and get them involved in helping to
support the acquisition of such things. How about it, Fortune,
Sun, et. al... any interest?
