Is there anyone out there who has been unfortunate enough to come in contact with the "ByteBandit" Virus? If so, do you have FAST memory. I have the "ByteBandit" virus (which I got for the purpose of testing), and it won't work on my machine with the FAST memory enabled. (gives a GURU #4, at address 1902 immediately upon booting the disk). However, it does work without the FAST memory... Is this true of all the ByteBandits, or just my 'strain'? Could be that the best protection against the ByteBandit is having Expansion Memory. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chad 'The_Walrus' Netzer -> AmigaManiac o ______ _ _____ o ' / / ' ) / /) ' / /_ _ / / / __ // __ . . _ / / /_(<_ ___(_(_/ (_(_(/_/ (_(_/_/_) "Nonsense is still 5/8 sense."

Call the Byte Bandit and ask for an upgrade. :-) :-) Seriously, does anyone else find this as hysterical as I do? I spent a large amount of time trying to get a WORKING BB virus, and they all seemed to have the same problem. (Wouldn't boot.) Finally, I sort of half-thought "Maybe if I reboot with 'NoFast', to disable the Fast memory..." And Lo and behold, that damn thing worked fine. What an IDIOT programmer, who can't even write a virus that works with Fast mem. (It probably won't work on 68010 machines, either.) :-) Mr. Byte Bandi(r)t is a Fubar, no DOUBT about it. At least it means that a lot of us can relax a little and (APPARENTLY) not worry about this SOB virus. But let us keep in mind that even with this stupid bug, I got a disk with 508 (!!) generations of the virus on it, so it is STILL very potent... 'Nuff said for today. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chad 'The_Walrus' Netzer -> AmigaManiac++ "Bols Ewhac tums kile 'Tony M.
