Hi everyone! I bought the game "Copne" last night from sotfware + and a Sega light gun from Toys-R-Us. The two are great together! Lots of action, sound, and skill...not being of the hunter type, my aim is the pits. The Amiga version of the gun is available from the game's manufacturer for $50, but TRU's Sega gun that its modified from is $30. The adaptor cable for it is as follows: Amiga port sega gun signal name (9 pin F) (9 pin M) 5 6 gun trigger ( needs a 10k pullup res. to Vcc ) 6 7 beam detector trigger 7 5 Vcc ( +5v ) 8 8 gnd. The gun adaptor plugs into joystick port 2 on 500's & 2000's. I added a 9 pin straight through connector to the cable so that I can connect my joystick in parallel with the gun so I don't need to swap cables. The gun adaptor plugs into joystick port 1 on 1000's ( this means that you must swap back & forth with mouse ). You may be able to connect the mouse and the gun in parallel too, but I haven't tried it. There is a mode for 2 guns at the same time, but that requires a breakout box that is sold by the game co. for $30. The Amiga doc's don't talk about how this can be done so we'll need more info on how to multiplex the signals to build one. I bet that it's done in software ( or with mirrors! ).....only the programmer knows for sure... I think this could be the basis for a great cpu-to-cpu game "Cops and Robbers", connect the computers ( ala jet ) and use the mouse in your left hand to move your player while shooting the gun with your right. If I only had the time to write it..... I hope someone else does. Jeff Leitheiser( jeffle@amtfocus ) (312)576-0836 Motorola Inc. UUCP: {gatech, chinet, clyde}!mcdchg!amtfocus!jeffle
