References: A while ago I posted an article noting the fact that ARP resident does not appear to make executables resident (a major flaw in *any* resident command, in my opinion :-). Someone responded with a post that said something like, "I think you need to use it with a different CLI," or something to that effect. Since then -- nothing. Does anyone know how I, a humble Amiga 500 non-developer type (i.e. still using 1.2) can get my ARP resident to make things resident? I'm currently using rez, which I think is great BTW, but I'm a real ARPie (I even sent them the requested $$ way back when) so I want to use ARP's very own. So, what do I need? The CLI from 1.3? A new version of ARP that I haven't heard about yet? (Not likely :-) What?? This question is worth 5 points on the next quiz. Anyone? Anyone? Be seeing you... It does require a different shell, I have written a very simple one that uses the ARP resident feature and has last command recall and a few other very simple features. It is still quite rough and untested as I threw it together last Sunday, but if anyone is interested in a copy let me know. Also, since it supports ARP resident, it of course requires arp. -- Brian Waters <backbone>!---\ ihnp4!{iuvax|pur-ee}!bsu-cs!jbwaters uunet!---/

You can use resident and the ARP arun command. To work with ARP resident the program must be loaded with one of the ARP calls. Arun does this. It should not be too hard to put arp calls into one of the available shells. Joel Swank Tektronix, Redmond, Oregon joels@tekred.TEK.COM
