I am playing the game SHADOWGATE and could really use a few tips. My friend and I have come to a point where it seems we cannot continue, though we have tried for hours. Can anyone please help? Please answer by E-Mail ONLY. MAJOR SPOILERS FOLLOW! Do not read the rest of this letter if you do not want to know details of our game-in-progress. If "the room with the 3 mirrors" doesn't sound familiar, you probably shouldn't continue.... Here is what we have done so far. Assume we always take every torch we see. (Including the "special" one, from one of the first rooms, whose purpose we have not yet figured out.) Taken key from skull and entered ShadowGate. Hall: Open book, take key. Then get sword and sling from other room. Did nothing with the rug. Lake: got bag of 3 gems and 10 small rocks. Pedestal: put white gem in hole, got the sphere. Re-took gem. Dragon: took shield, helmet (put on), hammer, spear. Lake: froze lake with sphere, got skeleton key. Got back the sphere using a torch. Tomb: Burnt mummy & got scepter. Got bag of gold coins. Avoided banshee and green slime. Mirror: Broke center mirror with hammer. Opened door with skeleton key. HERE WE ARE STUCK! We cannot go into the mirror (Bridge) room because it is too hot. We cannot go up the stairway by the lake because of the landslide. We cannot go down either of the 2 holes in the ground (pedestal room and mirror room) because we die. We cannot ride the broom; it kills us. We have discovered that the gold coins and one small stone are tasty & edible. This hasn't seemed to do anything for us. We feel like we've tried EVERY combination of objects on everything. Can someone tell us if we've missed anything, and how to get to the NEXT STAGE of the game?
