Note that they used a quarter-assed compiler on the Mac side. I've been told that better 'C' compilers can produce code that's up to twice as fast as Consulaire's. Now the Sieve benchmark is pretty optimisation-proof unless you go to massive hacks, but I'd take those results with a grain of salt. The tone of the article was more like "even the Amiga can look good if your benchmarks are bad", rather than "wow, look at these results", so don't go restarting your Byte subscription yet.
