I have a Pacific Peripherals Subsystem 500 with an a2090 disk controller in it. I've been noticing that after being on for about 8-9 hours straight that the subsystem is getting rather hot. Seeing that my amy is right on top I'm assumming that it too is getting warmer than it's meant to be. Is this a problem that I should correct with a fan? I don't want to burn up my amy or my a2090 but don't want to add a fan if it's not necessary. I want to add 2meg of memory at some point and think that this will only get worse. Do any of the other card cages come with fans and if so why doesn't this one? Also, what other card cages are available for the 500 now, what do they cost and what kind of luck have you had with them? --j -- jon wesener ... {seismo | harvard | ihnp4} ! {uwvax | cs.wisc.edu} ! astroatc!jojo "... for no better reason than our lives have no meaning and we want to be on television." -- Camper Van Beethoven

The BusExpander is designed to be installed in a user (or dealer) provided IBM style case with a user (or dealer) provided IBM compatible power supply. The BusExpander provides 6 Amiga slots, and 6 IBM slots. We have tested a variety of A2000 expansion cards in the BusExpander and haven't found problems with any of them. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only product which works on BOTH the A500 and the A1000. This is the first product which will allow you to expand your A1000 and then move to an A500 when you need that extra chip memory. You can do this without losing any of the peripherals which you have installed in the BusExpander. The BusExpander does not support either the video slot or the cpu slot from the A2000, however, we are working on our own version of a co-processor board which will occupy one of the 6 Amiga slots. The co-processor board should be available 2nd quarter 89. For further information contact: Bill's Boards 9528 Miramar Rd. Suite 181 San Diego, CA 92126 (619)486-0908 Suggested retail price is $495.00. We will be at the next LAAUG meeting on June 15th with a demo unit and presentation. I hope this answered Jon's questions without being considered too commercial. >--j >-- >jon wesener >... {seismo | harvard | ihnp4} ! {uwvax | cs.wisc.edu} ! astroatc!jojo >"... for no better reason than our lives have no meaning and > we want to be on television." -- Camper Van Beethoven -- _ /| Fundamentally Oral Bill \`o_O' UUCP: {akqua,hplabs!hp-sdd,sdcsvax,nosc}crash!billd ( ) Aachk!
