In reference to Richard Lloyd's comments about byte and the Archimedies I would like to say that I whole heartedly agree with him about his opinion of Byte Magazine. It has changed from a computer journal to a journal for business computers (IBM) or the most expensive new equipment money can buy. I dropped my subscription to them about 6 mos. ago. However, I feel that Mr. Lloyd has a case of "my computer is better than your computer," which in his case, with an Archimedies, he may be correct. I feel that he is confused about the American public, and American business. Business in the U.S. seems to only want IBM.(Of course what do I know, I'm not in business). For the general public, it comes down to marketing. I feel that the IBM computers in the home are related to the IBM computers being seen alot on television, in the office, and availability. If another computer company were to advertise, and have some decent dealerships that were accessible then that computer could be sold here. My point is that I would love to have had the chance to buy an Archimedies (I learned of them from Byte) but as you say they are unavailable in the U.S. It serves no purpose for you to be obnoxious about it. I would appreciate it if you would tell us more about the Archimedies capabilities, such as what are its graphics capabilities, can it do animation, neat software out there, more about the MS-dos emmulator, expansion capabilities, etc. It is much better if you say things in a positive way. Sorry for going on and on, Mark Masters <MFM1@LEHIGH.bitnet>
