I'm looking for CAD software for Ami that understands woodworking, i.e. cabinetry/furniture making and carpentry. It would be nice if it was smart enough to understand the standard lumber sizes and grades, joints, fastenings, get the most efficient fit of parts out of a sheet of plywood, generate materials lists, print patterns, blueprints, and so on. Is there anything out there that can do this, preferably PD or inexpensive, or should I start writing this sucker myself?
