A friend's 1080 monitor has the following symptoms : It arcs about twice an hour, don't know where from or to. ( Videotaping the open back of the monitor didn't reveal it ) It's been doing this for months. He's tried blowing all the dust out with a tool designed specifically for doing so, but the problem persists. Lately it's gotten worse : occasionally the "arc" shutsdown the monitor : black screen, no power light. Power-cycling the monitor brings it back. SOunds like some sort of protection circuit is being kicked in. Any solutions out there? How about corona dope : where should we try putting it ? Should (can) we try lowering the high-voltage voltage, which I assume is the problem ? Thanx. -- Dennis O'Connor oconnor%sungod@steinmetz.UUCP ARPA: OCONNORDM@ge-crd.arpa "Never confuse USENET with something that matters, like PIZZA."
