[net.music] Name of song, perfomer, album wanted...

Subject: Name of song, performer & album title...does anyone know?

While in the process of transferring all of my old reel-to-reels
onto cassettes, I came across two songs that I have been trying to
identify from one of my unattended late night off the air tapings.

The first song.
This song starts out with some really good guitar and
mandolin work in sort of a flowery, C&W way. The lead singer
is male, again sounds like a C&W singer. On the chorus are
at least two female backup singers with great empathy for
the song and lyrics. The first stanza is:

I used to be a rambler, a child of the times,
A gypsy and a gambler, with stars in my eyes,
Then you took me inside, put oils in my hair,
Crowned me the king of love, called on me to care.
Well, I was strong and I was brave, I was everything,
The world lay before me, and this caused me to sing.
Then you took my song, placed it between your lips,
And I, I fell a slave, to that voice, and those hips.

	Chorus:
Lady, oh lady, won't you come see me,
I am lonely, I need someone,
Lady, please see me, (I no longer knew thee?),
Cast into a strange world, I was undone.

	more stanzas

The second song
This sounds like a group with the lead singer again male. He has
a voice very reminiscent of Eric Clapton. The end of the song is
all that I was able to salvage (tape was damaged).

The ducks are flying south, I really think it's time to go,
I'll see you in the morning, sunshine joe.
	Chorus (group of voices)
How can you sing with a broken wing,
How can you fly till the spirit gets you high.
	(some fine guitar work)
I'll see you in the morning, sunshine joe.

My tape label says that these were recorded off the air in Boston, Mass.
in the fall of 1975. I have been trying to figure these out for the last
few years.

Thanks in advance,
