Since there's all the talk about Yes, and I haven't been on uvacs for about three months, I thought I'd reply whether it was a bit delayed or not. If you will notice, Yes has 3 people in the group who have been with Yes at some previous time. The producer of the album was the singer for them (only for 1 year). The music says that it was done by Yes, but the real person behind the music was the producer! He, along with (maybe) Chris Squire, wrote most of their material. After the material was written for a group called Carousel, they asked Jon Anderson to sing for them. Jon said that he would, if they changed the group's name to Yes. Voila! Before people go into blindly criticising some excellent musicians, perhaps a little thought and research should go into those statements. Actually, Tales of Topographic Oceans is an incredibly complex piece, which can easily rival classical pieces in terms of imagery and feeling. I always liked it. #R:uvacs:-118700:inmet:6600097:000:762 inmet!andrew Mar 9 12:46:00 1984 Some corrections: 1) Yes has *four* former members aboard: Anderson & Squire, of course, plus Tony Kaye (first 3 albums) and Alan White (part of Yessongs and all subsequent LPs). 2) The current producer, Trevor HORN, was indeed the lead singer in the previous edition of Yes. However, it was new guitarist Trevor RABIN who wrote most of 90125. 3) Trevor Rabin, Tony Kaye, and Chris Squire's proposed group was to be called Cinema, not Carousel (see the latest Musician).
