I need some information about the Amiga's speech synthesis system, for a paper to appear in a psychology journal concerning methods for evaluating the intellegibility of synthetic speech. Our lab has done perceptual studies on a number of synthesis devices, including the Amiga. The type of information I'm looking for is: What type of synthesis does it do? (Formant? LPC?). Who developed it? Did it evolve from other system? Any help at all will be appreciated. Please respond to me personally. By the way, if you're interested, the Amiga did quite well in comparison to dedicated devices costing much more than an A500. However, we evaluated intelligibility at the segmental (phoneme) level; I doubt that the Amiga would studies involving sentence or paragraph comprehension. ----------------------- Mike Dedina Indiana University Speech Research Lab dedina@gold.bacs.indiana.edu dedina@iubacs.bitnet Michael_J_Dedina@cup.portal.com
