When the CPU accesses screen memory, the CPU is magickally slowed down from 2.foo MHz to 1 MHz. When you turn the volume up on the sound output, you can hear the computer thinking. You can only have one page of super-wonderful-hi-res graphics. Apple ][ software compatability is a crapshoot at best. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Leo L. The OS is ridiculous; Finder is slow as christmas. His new saying is "if in doubt, just turn it off." He keeps wishing he'd gotten a A500. The only thing keeping him from sending this back is his installed base of Apple IIc software. BTW, the graphics are worse than the Atari ST: 16 in 320X200, 4 in 640X200. The sound reproduction really stinks compared to the Amy. Looks like the design decisions were for the education market where memory (it addresses 16Mb) and compatibility were the priority. It's supposed to be the ultimate education machine. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ But hey, its the best country in the world! Thomas W.
