This may seem a little bizarre, and this may not be quite the newsgroup for this question, but here I go anyway. I am looking for any information on LCD or other non-flickering, non-CRT type monitors/screens. I remember a few years ago that these were becoming somewhat popular, but then it seems like they sort of disappeared, except as screens for laptops and portables (who wants to lug around a CRT? Not me). Back when the first laptops were coming out, my Father translated some manuals for an early NEC model (the one that looked just like the first Tandy laptop, although the NEC was nicer), so we had a loaner machine around. It had an LCD screen, and even though it was older LCD technology, I really enjoyed using that screen. I figure that now, with all of the funky new LCD technology (i.e. super-twist, back-lighting, etc.), the screens would be better, although I realize they are somewhat slow in scrolling and updating, and they are only monochrome. That doesn't bother me. I've used several types of CRT's, including Amber-Screen, Black-and-White, analog RGB, composite video (with separate chroma/luma inputs), etc. I still remember the LCD as being better, because the pixels were crisp and it did not flicker, and they are not nearly as large as a Cathode-Ray Tube. So anyhow, does anyone have any information on LCD or other non-CRT, non-flickering displays that can be used with an a1000? My basic use of the machine is for text, so I don't give a rip about color; when I want that I'll hook up my C-view/1702 combination. If you could provide manufacturer/price info (as well as any opinions on the matter which you might have), I would appreciate it.
