[comp.sys.amiga] Palomar Peripherals

fred@maccs.McMaster.CA (Fred Whiteside) (07/07/88)

[I ain't afraid of no steeenking line eater ... ]

In the June issue of Amiga Sentry magazine, there is an ad for an
expansion unit for the 1000 called the PPI-1000, manufactured by a
firm named Palomar Peripherals in California. This unit has space for
2 disk drives, 20 or 40MB drives, 2,4,6 or 8 MB fast no wait-state RAM,
real-time clock, DMA interface and other things. The price that they are
asking is $US 1395 for 2MB memory and a 20MB disk, which seems quite
reasonable to my way of thinking.
My question is: has anyone out there seen/used/heard of this box or
this company? I know that there was recently a brief flurry of articles
about some company that had licenced something (design or oem rights or
something like that) from ASDG, but that news has been expired here. Are
those two the same company (please excuse my poor English, I am an idiot)?

Please mail me with your comments, and I will post a summary to the
net if it is warranted (actually, I prefer to see this sort of traffic
in the newsgroup, but people are always on about bandwidth so I'll be a
good little programer).

   Thanks for your assistance...
