AmiEXPO Update AmiEXPO Get-Together Update AmiEXPO Update

To all AMY USENETers, AmiEXPOers, & Amiga Software Collectors:

I have finally (says who? :-) ) gotten everthing together for the
get-together after AmiEXPO, so heres the poop:

1) We will meet in the Hyatt Regency Hotel at approximately 6:30 Saturday
in the CAPTAIN'S WALK (on the Skyway Level across the Skyway from the
AmiEXPO reception area). It is in the WEST TOWER of the Hyatt between
Truffle's Restaurant & Mrs. O'Leary's Restaurant (just follow the signs).
Drinks will be available at a cash bar in the room, or a room nearby. MY
many humble thanx to Joe Lowery, Executive Director of AmiEXPO, and
President of AMUSE of NY for suppling us with this room.

2) COME AND SEE ME MAKE A FOOL OF MYSELF AT THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS
CONFERENCE. I will be a speaker on the panel, representing USENET (my god,
I can't stop volunteering... ;-) ). Anyhow, the conference is from 3:30 to
5:00 Saturday, come and give me some support (no athletic supporters,
please :-] ).

3) From 5:!5 to 6:15 (Saturday) AmiEXPO will be throwing a birthday party
for the Amiga, complete with a cake for 1000 people. After you have your
cake and eat it to, come on up to our get-together!

4) Yes Virgina, we will be having a software swap. Many thanx to Pat White
for supplying me with COMPLETE AMIGA USENET BINARY AND SOURCE ARCHIVES !!!!!
These contain all of the files lists in Pat's recent archive index
postings. Also available will be TurboBackup (from The Software Brewery)
and whatever PD/Shareware I have and can scrape up. All software is
available for only .... $2.50/disk. ($2 for media and $.50 for
wear'n'tear). Please call me (or E-Mail if you must) with the list of what
you want (I will CUSTOM configure disks for all those who call in advance).
Anyone wishing something at or after the EXPO will be charged $3.00/disk
plus shipping. All orders at/after the EXPO must be made from a list of
preconfigured disks (ala Fred Fish).

5) We will all have an excellent time !!! (I'll use force if neccesary :-)).

6) You can find me on any of the EXPO days at the EXPO (where else?), I
will be wearing a white MSS OnLine! tee-shirt that says: "KJOHN of USENET"
on the back.

7) The following is the software available so far:

can avoid a duplication of efforts.

If you mail (UPS preffered) me a disk, I will return it to you with any
requested software on it for free, so send in those disks.

I can be reached at:

RealTime (preffered): 1(312)418-1236 (6pm to 10:30pm central time)

USmail (or UPS): John Kjellman
                      17302 Park Ave.
                      Lansing IL 60438

E-Mail (not much time left for this one... [I have an unreliable newfeed]):
(in my last posting(s) I mistypes ihnp1, sorry!)

		     ihnp1!richp1!kjohn
                             or
                      kjohn@richp1.UUCP

P.S.
Sorry about charging for disk duplication, but my vintage Amiga 1000 is
my only method of creating disks (it has the internal drive and an HD).

P.P.S.
I will have flyers at the EXPO listing the configurations of the disks
available. Pat wants to put the USENET stuff out (ala Fred Fish) across
the whole country and I will be the distributor of them (Pat's upto his
ears in postings as it is....).

AmiEXPO Update II AmiEXPO Get-Together Update II AmiEXPO Update II

To all AMY USENETers, AmiEXPOers, & Amiga Software Collectors:

I have some corrections to my last posting:

> 4) Yes Virgina, we will be having a software swap. Many thanx to Pat White
> ....
> plus shipping. All orders at/after the EXPO must be made from a list of
> preconfigured disks (ala Fred Fish).
                       ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This was not meant to mean Fred Fish will be distributing the USENET
archives, it means that I will have disks available for those that can't
make it to the EXPO. The disks will each contain a fixed set of program
(just like the F.F. disks do....).

> P.P.S.
> I will have flyers at the EXPO listing the configurations of the disks
> available. Pat wants to put the USENET stuff out (ala Fred Fish) across
> the whole country and I will be the distributor of them (Pat's upto his

This is MY MISTAKE (bad KJohn, bad), I should have said that I was going
talk to Pat about me distributing the USENET archives to non-USENETers, I
never quite got around to talking to Pat though... (consultants are like
that ;-). Another misnomer that came from this posting was that Fred Fish
will be distrubing the Amiga archives. THIS IS TOTALLY FALSE, UNTRUE and
will probably get me flamed (asbesto suit on). Fred is in no way associated
with the USENET archives (unless, of course, he up/down loads to them :-).

To repeat, the flyer I will be distributing at AmiEXPO will be for those who
didn't request their software in advance. I will take orders from the flyer
and UPS the requested softweare to the concered parties.

********* OK, now onto the new stuff: **********

Yes, we will be meeting in the Hyatt Regency Hotel at approximately 6:30 PM
Saturday after the Amiga B-Day party (sponsered by the AmiEXPO people). We'll
meet at the CAPTAIN'S WALK (on the Skyway Level across the Skyway from
the AmiEXPO reception area) in the WEST TOWER of the Hyatt between
Truffle's Restaurant & Mrs. O'Leary's Restaurant. Drinks will be available
at a cash bar in the room, or a room nearby. MY MANY HUMBLE THANX to Joe
Lowery, Executive Director of AmiEXPO, and President of AMUSE of NY for
suppling us with this room (can I suck up or what :-).

COME AND SEE ME MAKE A FOOL OF MYSELF AT THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS
CONFERENCE. I will be a speaker on the panel, representing USENET, nuff
said.

You can find me on any of the EXPO days at the EXPO (where else?), I
will be wearing a white MSS OnLine! tee-shirt that has "KJOHN of USENET"
printed on the back. Look for me (and duck, I'm a dangerous guy.... =:-]).

The following is the software available so far:

Everthing from Pat's archive & from my last posting and a complete set of
Fred Fish disks !!! (I have two sources for these, so I shouldn't have any
problem ensuring that they are there... heh heh :-) ).

I am working on an Intuition'd version of ARC using the 5.21 version off the
net, but I don't think it will be done in time for the EXPO (coming to an
archive near you RSN).

I still need :

1) A set of Amicus disks (you can bring them with to the EXPO, or if you
can make them available to me prior to the EXPO, I will have copies for all
who are interested.).

2) ANY PD/SHAREWARE THAT YOU HAVE that is not in any of the above mentioned
sources!!!!!!

3) If anyone has any good subroutines or code fragments, maybe we could all
bring them to the EXPO, and I will collect/catalog them and redistribute
them? I know this would be a big help to me personally, programming the Amiga
is a real Zen experience :-).
