With the advent of many very nice UNIX desktop (or table top..) systems, I would like to collect whatever performance data exists for comparisons. The machine class of interest is Sun, wicat, ONYX, Fortune, ...... Any standard (e.g. Puzzle) benchmark with configuration and result would be a good measure. Would anyone like to submit a SIMPLE benchmark or two, maybe one CPU bound and one which also invloves I/O for the bake-off?? I will summarize anything recieved to the net.
