[comp.sys.amiga] The Amiga parallel port with the BridgeCard

rszinn@dahlia.waterloo.edu (Scotte Zinn) (07/17/88)

I am wondering how transparent the Amiga parallel port is to the Amiga when
running LPT1 and how fully it implements the IBM PC/XT parallel port LPT1.

Does it allow input/output? How about all of the handshaking and are they in
the proper direction?

I require this info since I will be developing some software for the PC on the
BridgeCard that requires total control of the Parallel port and the control
lines.

I have been using LPT1 on the Bridgecard with a variety of PC programs
with absolutely no glitch. Considering that the BridgeCard uses the Phoenix
BIOS emulator, I would assume no incompatibility.
