(Hungary?) - - - - - - - - - -(Here, try some of this) I promised to get an external floppy drive (3.5) for a friend which I will probably try and do at Ami-Expo. Can anybody briefly tell me who has these drives and which are recommended? What is a reasonable price these days for a drive? I'm still using the orginal C= drive (1050?) and it wasn't a reasonable price. Or at least isn't a reasonable price now. Well, I've had a Progressive Peripherals ProDrive for about 2 months
now, and I've been very pleased with it. It is VERY solidly built, has a
nice "feel" to the disk release (BTW, it looks like it is an NEC drive -
the good ones), is small (very nice on a space budget), has a generous
cable, and is VERY quiet. The difference between it and my internal A1000
drive is like night and day; no more CHUNK CHUNK CHUNK, but rather a nice
click (put that in -5 point elite :-). And, best of all, Abel Supply (Yes,
take this as a promotion, I like them and their service) has them for about
$180 shipped. This is great considering 1050's are now $299 retail, and
about $50 more than the ProDrive mail order.

Are you sure you meant Abel? (Are you sure you meant the ProDrive? ;-) Perhaps they have stopped carrying it for some reason?
