There is an unofficial project going on here to create a library of X bitmaps. Quite a number of the existing images were converted from black and white Macintosh-digitized images. Now that color X workstations are making their appearance here, the people working on the project are finally taking me up on my suggestion of converting Amiga images to X bitmaps. Now, the question is, where can I find IFF or other images available by anonymous ftp? Any other sources? Secondary topic: does anyone have *portable* C source for an IFF reader that can be used or modified to extract individual bitmaps from the interleaved format? An IFF to TIFF converter would be perfect, as the people here already have the necessary tools for TIFF to X bitmap format conversion. Thanks in advance for any assistance. If you are interested in similar topics, or if you want to find out about this project, please mail rather than post. I promise to send a summary of everything I hear to everyone who writes me (unless there are more than 30, in which case I'll post). Be seeing you...
