[comp.sys.amiga] 1.2meg floppy on an Amiga?

Due to college costs (oh, we've all heard that one before :-) I can't
seem to afford more RAM, nor can I afford a hard drive.  This got me
thinking (which is something I try to stay away from, eh Eric?)

I could get a 1.2meg 5.25" drive (used) for very little money.
Is there anyway I could interface it to my Amiga?  I don't care if
I'd have to mount it under the FFS or the SFS just as long as I'd
have that much more disk space.  It would certainly be enough for
an "external C: directory" (so to speak).

I haven't heard anything about such an interface, anyone do it yet?
(or make my dreams come true and just tell me that it's the same as
the 360K drive specs)

  Probably impossible... The 1.2M mode on PC floppies is clocked
at the same rate as used in 8" drives (in fact, 1.2M drives have been
used by the CP/M crowd to replace 8" units). Unless there is a way to
make an Amiga clock data 2X faster, I don't any way of getting this to
work. However, it should be fairly easy to hook up a 96 tpi (80 track)
drive to give you 800K on 51/4" disks.

P.S. One of the early issues of Amazing had details on how to hook this 
up. Also, I think that the 1.2Meg Drives can be used the same as a standard
96 tpi drive by asserting the density select signal in an appropriate fashion.
