So I still think that the point is valid that > there is a new high end system that is needed to keep the Amiga in the > running and upto date. Maybe even just a B2000 with the cards already > pluged in, but it has to clean and simple if it is going to give the Mac II > a run for its money. Making the guy do the plugging himself is the kludge, > not the hardware itself. I wasn't clear on that before. The needs that you describe are answered by the A2500 series. No doubt, Commodore is also obligated to produce a 32-bit Amiga archictecture if they are to continue competing in the high-end market. But from both official and informal statements, we should also know that this is what they're in the process of designing right now. As for the AVAILABILITY of the A2500, that is a definite problem. Commodore is long overdue on many products that will mean whether or not they lose customers such as Wayne. The 2024, 2620 (w/UNIX), 2[23]86...these are all products that MUST be available for the Amiga to be considered a superior choice over the competition in many areas. Forget about your A3000/4000 wish list for now. Wish that Commodore gets these products out the door before they have fallen behind the cutting edge. Mind you, the Amiga 2000 IS every bit as viable a platform as the Mac II or whatever personal computer you care to name. With readily available add-ins to keep pace with the state of the art, it can have a VERY long lifetime. I hope that getting these necessities out is a high priority at Commodore; if many folks in West Chester aren't losing sleep over these delays, they should be. I await results!!!! < Lionel ---------- Lionel Hummel 404 W.
