Talking about tanks, where can I get the frontline people >have been talking about??? sounds cool.... The name of the game, correct meif I'm wrong (doubt it just bought the game) is FIREPOWER! It has 3 play modes: 2 player split screen, vrs computer, or via modem. This game is great! the sound and graphics are as good as an arcade machine! Playability is good too. I haven't tried the modem, so I don't know how well it works. Breaking it down this way: Graphics: B+ Sound: B- (all those explosions get jarring after 2 hours, but WAR is Heck!) :-) Playability: B- (minor nits...read on.) Multitasks: No 1.2 Kiskstart: yes runs with xtra memory: not sure, person had problems using with Spirit board...netters? Surviability: Only one crash, after many hours of continuous play... B- Copy protection: Yes, but can be backed up with Quicknibble or MauraderII. Documentation: None. All rules tips and instructions are on the disk. Price: For only $24.00 it was a must buy program. Hopefully the low(er) price will keep the pirates at bay. (Lets not get into a discussion on this...heard it all before) Writes to master: Nope. Ran fat-n-happy with a copy. Nits: Some documentation would have been a boon. Details on the tanks used would have added to the understanding of the game. You can get stuck way to easy....have to wait for the choppers to come blow you away. (Killed a 100 just stuck between buildings. They almost never touched me. Dropping mines is a pain. If you're not really carefull you blow yourself up. I'd like to have a function key blip you out of a tight, stuck place, as a last resort and at a high penalty cost. Waiting to die is boring. BTW, pressing <funtion key 1> will abort the game. Also like to see some way of dropping mines other than the current way. maybe a funtion key mapped to the same instruction or something. This is another canidate for the mapping team. There is more than one map, too. I may do it myself and if I do I'll post results and or ask for help. My current high score is 4825. (solo mode) I'd love to challenge someone... This is a good game, and I'd like to see more like it, so please don't pirate it. -- Lawrence H. About 10% of American males are colorblind, and most of them are "green blind" -- green == uncolored for us. That means a green surface looks brown, and green light (i.e., a traffic light) looks white. Sure hope MicroIllusions allows those colors to be changed to something sensible--red and blue, just to pick two at random :-).

You didn't mention what type of copy protection this game has, and whether Maurauder can unprotect it? I don't steal software, and I am leaning towards not buying any software that cannot be copied or cannot be installed on hard disk, or any other kind of obstructive copy protection. I don't even like the word from the manual type copy protection, but at least that one is "harmless". -- Godfrey Lee P.O. We just set the "number to dial" requester to a blank line, hit "Dial", and then "Start Game". It fired right up. The next half hour or so was spent playing on the two machines, side-by-side, with a crowd at least 5 deep crowded around us. Does you cable carry all the lines needed (CD, TR, MR)? I have no idea what is required, but my cable does have all of the above wired. -- Blaine Gardner @ Evans & Sutherland 540 Arapeen Drive, SLC, Utah 84108 UUCP Address: {ihnp4,ucbvax,decvax,allegra}!decwrl!esunix!blgardne {ihnp4,seismo}!utah-cs!esunix!blgardne "I don't see no points on your ears boy, but you sound like a Vulcan!"

(yo-ho!) I hope that the lower price of this product coupled with its great playablity will discourage people from pirating this program.. I'd like to see more like this one come out. On a cute side note, my buddy's 3 yr old son sat down in front of the A500 in the store (it had firepower loaded) and got the game running. He was able to quickly figure out the method of driving and the gun controls. He then ran up a score twice as high as one of the salesladies who also likes the game. I finally succumbed to temptation and purchased firepower and i'm happy to say, that everyone is correct... it is great game.... Two minor gripes..... I wish there were more maps for the game... i played 5 games of two player mode and had the same map three times... BORING... Second gripe... Is there an object to the One player mode other than rescue guys and kill every thing???? I still haven't found the flag if there is one and i've tried thats for sure.... there are several bunkers on the map that i've found and destroyed. i however haven't found the FLAG inside the bunkers..... Sigh... Jonathan Pithy Saying 01010 GLAR!!!!
