I am looking for advice from anyone who has experience with language translators. I may have to write one and need advice as to the size and complexity of the project. Are there any available that convert COBOL (or any language) into C? How complicated do data declarations get for COBOL's nested structures? Are there symbol table and decimal arithmetic packages that I could adapt, or would using binary suffice? Any software, comments, or pointers to others' work would be appreciated.
