Well i got to thinking about BibTex yesterday after a talk with Tom Rokicki. The thought occurred that it would be nice if BibTex could talk to Microfiche filer (via AReXX) and extract out the entries i have. I don't think the MF AReXX version is out yet though. Currently i have bib. entries stored in MFF and have to pull them out by hand. I think if the MFF version with AReXX comes out it will be time to buy AReXX and get that done, as bibtex source is available. Anyway, thinking a little more, i realized that database managers with AReXX ports have lots of potential uses. * Quick, what's the name of the resource editor on the Amiga? * Suppose Matt Dillon's resource library (in progress?) were designed so that it could talk AReXX too. Then it could look for resources by talking to your favorite data base manager. AReXX would be the communications broker, as it were. This need not be slow (Look at AmigaTex) and has some nice properties. The most important, to my mind, is the answer to the above question: * oh, resource editors? Why, there's DeluxePaint, DigiPaint, emacs, tex, just about anything that can produce information that microfiche filer or <your favorite DBMS> can store * In other words, it brings the tools-based approach to bear on the resource editor problem! Comments anyone? ron
