I had this problem with my mouse, in that it wouldn't move left when I moved it left, and it wouldn't move up when I moved it up. The problem is the third roller is not turning freely enough. I cleaned it out the best I could with fine plyers, and put some grease on the bearings (such as they are) and that appears to have fixed it. The mouse was not meant to be taken apart completely. Things are soldiered and you can only reach in from the holes to do the cleaning/greasing.
