Good afternoon from a new subscriber. I am beginning to put together a collection of disks with programs gleaned from here and from Fred Fish's library. Fear not! For lo, I anticipate very little distribution of these disks. I have no desire to become, as Fred has, a major disk distributor. These disks are primarily for my own use, and will be distributed by hand to my friends, locally. I am not responsible for what happens after that. Anyway, to get to the point: I am trying to make these disks as iconic as possible. The less CLI I have to deal with, the happier I am. Does there exist a program or programs like Xicon or IconExec that will allow me to run commands from the icon, *** and *** use extended selection to provide CLI command line arguments for the commands in the script or 'CMD=' line? I envision an extension to Xicon something like this: CMD=:diff/diff &1 &2 >&3 where &1 and &2 are the first and second files associated with the icons in the extended selection, respectively. This would allow me to make even heavily line-oriented commands icon-able. I appreciate any help that can be provided. Dan Hankins "Two wrongs don't make a right, but three rights make a left."
