Announcing
Workshop on VLSI Research & Design
in an Academic Environment
October 7-9, 1982
The Pennsylvania State Campus
University Park, PA
This workshop has been organized in recognition of the ever
improving VLSI research and design environments at universities.
With both the hardware and software design advances, new research
areas such as the development of innovative VLSI computer struc-
tures and the specification and verification of computational
processes implemented in VLSI have become viable alternatives for
the academic researcher. In spite of these improvements, the
design support environment in academia will remain, for most,
below that available in industry. This workshop will focus on
the relationship of theory and design of computational systems
using VLSI in a limited academic environment.
Invited and contributed presentations and panels discussions
will emphasize important and successful contributions to VLSI
research and design within a university environment. Proceedings
will not be published but copies of presentation material will be
available at the Workshop. Participation will be limited to ap-
proximately 50 attendees. Invited speakers include
Keynote Speaker: Danny Cohen, Project Leader, USC/ISI
"The MOSIS Silicon Broker"
Featured Speakers: Dan Gajski, University of Illinois
Dan Atkins, University of Michigan
Prospective speakers should submit a two hundred to five hundred
word abstract indicating new contributions. For more information
