I am trying to understand the nature of the Amiga marketplace. I need to know how many Amigas there are (600K?); how many are in the U.S. vs Europe (200K vs 400K?). What percentage are unexpanded/unexpandable (A500/A1000/A2000 breakdown); how many 1 Meg and up Amigas? Who has 1 floppy drive, 2 drives, hard drives? What other peripherals? I'd like to know what kind of people buy Amigas and their ages. Where are Amigas begin used (home vs business vs school), and how they are being used. What percentage are buying what percentage of games vs productivity vs educational software? I'd also like to get some feel for how some popular and not-so-popular software/hardware products have fared. I've read DPII has from 40 to 80% market penetration. How many copies of WordPerfect have been sold?. What is the estimate of the number of memory boards sold by MicroBotics? How many copies of Analyze!, or SuperBase, or PageSetter, or IntroCAD? Stuff like that. Finally, I'd like to learn what the possible future projections for these figures are. I understand that C-A will soon begin a new "Amiga-Mail Market" newsletter, and perhaps this will address some of my questions. But, for the time being, can anyone either wager some educated guesses or send me somewhere? -scott
