Decvax has recently had severe problems with uucp. I have attempted to fix what I can and get some of the old stuff out. However, much of the stuff did not make it and is still on our system. Decvax is now returning to normal operational mode (where we get swamped!). Sorry for the problems this may have caused. Armando.

I thought I would explain/apologize why/for decvax's down time. Decvax was scheduled to be moved to a new building. So, for the duration of the 780 (real decvax), we planned to put uucp and only uucp on a 730 with a UDA-50/R80. (No users, local or otherwise were permitted to log into the system by changing their password entries.) The request was made to have extensions of system phones (so that the transition of the system from the 730 to the 780 in its new home would be easy and clean). T minus one week and counting. Instead of installing the new phones as extensions off of the existing lines, the phone company disconnects the phones and does not get them hooked back up for about 5 days. The 730 is brought up and the 780 is dismantled (now in the hands of local field circus). The 780 is installed in the new building (MK2). Now the 730, which has been thrashing for a week dies due to a hardware problem with a disk module; no parts on hand. The phones in MK2 are still not installed, so we sitz and we waitz! Then, two weeks later, after a lot of high level "talking", the phone person comes and installs the lines. Then, after a weekend of spinning tapes, decvax comes to life and Fred Canter and I sat and resuscitated uucp. Decvax seems to be back (with its 94k byte C. and D. directory sizes). It looks pretty solid. Sorry for the hassles. Armando.
