[comp.sys.amiga] nothing really important

["Resistance is useless!" shouted the guard]

I had a friend of mine over from work a couple of weeks ago. He was
boasting (in a friendly sort of way) about his new Mack II and 140 Meg
harddisk and how many thousands of dollars it set him back even with all
the special discounts he got. Well, I booted up Amy here. It was the first
one he'd ever seen. I brought up "Bizzerk", "Killer", "RGB" and "focus"
for him. He just kinda shook his head (in a friendly sort of way) and said
"Wow, my Mack will never be able to do that". He suggested that had he not
invested so much in the Mack Too, he would've given the Amiga a serious
consideration.

I've seen "Berserk" running on a Mac II over at Aegis (or was it "The
Dream"?) In any case, I thought it rather ironic to see the Amiga
logo and all coming out of the Mac - I'm sure the folks at Apple would
get a real kick out of that. Only bad thing about the animation
was that it was running many times faster than the Amiga version. Yep,
I said faster (and all that without page flipping.) Pretty good
for the "poor animation qualities of the Mac II." In any case, the
Amiga's still a bargain if you're comparing price tags.
