[comp.sys.amiga] comp.binaries.amiga on Arpanet?

denbeste@bbn.com (Steven Den Beste) (09/03/88)

First, Clark-EMH is NOT an Arpanet site. You are Milnet.
"Clark-EMH.arpa" doesn't mean it is an Arpanet site, it is a description of a
gateway between Arpanet and Milnet. Sigh.

The good news is that Milnet is part of the "Internet", and since as far as I
know "Clark-EMH" is a C-70, it should be possible for you to use FTP to get the
comp.sources.amiga and comp.binaries.amiga archives off of j.cc.purdue.edu.

One of the following should work for you:

ftp j.cc.purdue.edu
ftp 128.210.0.3
ftp 128.210.2.2
ftp 128.46.138.2

In all cases, login name is "anonymous", password is your account name.

If none of them do, please send me mail and I'll see what I can find out.
I might mention that I work for BBN, who built both the Arpanet and the Milnet,
and also the machine you are using directly, unless I'm mistaken.

However, I tried to help a guy at your site a couple of months ago and I had
such trouble sending him private mail that I'm not even trying in your case.

My mail address from your site should be "denbeste@bbn.com". I would greatly
appreciate mail even if you succeed.
