The Skid City Blues Band still kicks 'em out at Minstrel's and
B.L.U.E.S. and Biddy Mulligan's up in the Windy City; what a cookin' band!
Big Twist & The Mellow Fellows now have (I think) three albums out,
and play the Illinois/Indiana/Wisconsin circuit pretty regularly...
Also in the "Still Alive and Well" category around here are Luther
Allison (probably best known for standing out in the middle of Halsted
Avenue in Chicago in about 10 degree weather one night in '81 and stopping
traffic while playing "Crosscut Saw"...), Lonnie Brooks (who just released
a new album), and Hip Linkchain, who plays just about every night of the week
somewhere on Lincoln/Halsted/Clark.
Those of you in California may have the warmer weather, but Chicago
has the *hottest* blues in the world; don't miss it when you visit!
