[comp.sys.amiga] Sick Amiga 1000

erd@tut.cis.ohio-state.edu (Ethan R. Dicks) (09/14/88)

Since I got sooo many replies about my A1000 KickStart problem, I thought I
should post a _short_ note:

All the replies have been of the type...

"Maybe your KickStart disk is corrupt..."

I mentioned in _both_ articles that I _could_ restart from software, not
from hardware. I am _not_ failing WCS checksum tests. All my backups of
the KickStart disk behave the same way, and behave properly in other people's
machines.

I do know that the daughter card has been damaged and incorrectly repaired.
The daughter card was damaged by ME, trying to install a PAL upgrade and
grounding (no, grounding was _not_ sufficient). I was asking anyone if
they know about HARDWARE reasons for my problem.

Thanks,
-ethan
