[comp.sys.amiga] Some more good news

papa@pollux.usc.edu (Marco Papa) (09/14/88)

Just to keep with the positive attitutes :-), let's report some good facts
about Commodore Marketing. Computer & Software News (Sept 12) reports that
"Commodore signs Omni Micro, Priority 1, Fryes" as new dealership chains that
will sell the Amiga and Commodore PC clones. Omni, a 15-outlet chain
based in South Bend, Indiana; and Priority 1, a four-store chain, are the
largest business-oriented resellers Commodore has won since Max Toy took
over. The article reports that other 6 or 7 chains are having talks
with Commodore. Commodore supposedly announced that the A2286 Bridgeboard
will ship within 60 days, and that "the 68020 card will be availablle
with either 2 or 4 Mbytes of RAM, and will simultaneously run UNIX, DOS *and*
AmigaDOS". The board will also come with either a 68881 or 68882 math co-
processor".

Enjoy.

Not so good, I bought my Amiga 1000 from Priority 1 in 1985, I picked the
store mostly because of location, a BIG mistake. Their service stunk, they
didn't have any software to speak of, all I ever heard was "we can't do any-
thing except what headquarters tells us". I hope they have taken a radical
turn for the better, though I may never know if they have, since I have found
stores with decent software selections and support, I don't go to Priority 1.
